সবার জন্য আবাস - ‘খাদ্য’ এবং ‘বস্ত্র’-এর সঙ্গে ‘বাসস্থান’ও মর্যাদাপূর্ণ জীবনের এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য মৌলিক অধিকার। ভারতীয় সংবিধান স্বীকৃত এই অধিকার বাস্তবায়নে আবাসন দপ্তর প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ।

Housing for All - Alongside 'food' and 'clothing', 'shelter' is an inseparable fundamental right essential to leading a life of dignity, as recognized by the Constitution of India. The Housing Department remains committed to fulfilling this constitutional promise.

The Housing Department plays a key role in improving the quality of life of citizens by formulating and implementing various Social Sector Housing Project These initiatives are carried out through the Housing Directorate and the West Bengal Housing Board.

In addition, the Department oversees two other Directorates-the Estate Directorate and the Directorate of Brick Production. The Estate Directorate is responsible for the management of Public Rental Housing Estates across the State.
