The Housing Department initiated the construction of a multi-storied office building, Abasan Bhavan, at Plot No. CBD-3, New Town, Rajarhat, to house the Department and its associated offices under one roof.

The project was taken up with the objective of creating a centralized administrative facility for improved coordination and efficiency.

Construction activities progressed for several years; however, the building has remained incomplete since 2018.

The Department is presently in the process of taking necessary steps to complete the remaining works and make the structure usable for official purposes.
